Ash hung bright flags for his birthday party. Pikachu practiced tiny sparks beside the cake table. “Sparkle, sparkle!” chirped Pikachu. Then Ash spotted one empty, cake-shaped space.
Eevee pointed toward the apple trees. Munchlax sat there, guarding the huge cake. “I wanted a party cake too,” said Munchlax. Pikachu saw a tiny paper hat beside him.
Pikachu could have zapped the cake away. Instead, Pikachu sat beside Munchlax quietly. The paper hat had Munchlax’s name written inside. “Sparkle, sparkle?” asked Pikachu.
Munchlax showed Pikachu his crayon birthday drawing. It had friends, balloons, and two cakes. Pikachu tapped his tail against the grass. Golden pictures floated up from the drawing!
Ash and Eevee hurried beneath the glowing pictures. Ash placed a second candle on the cake. “Two birthdays can fit,” he said. Munchlax held the tiny hat carefully.
Everyone sang for Ash and Munchlax together. Pikachu cut the first slice into two pieces. “Sparkle, sparkle!” called all the friends. Cake crumbs dotted Munchlax’s cream face.
After cake, Pikachu’s tail glowed once more. A golden picture showed a seed under rocks. Eevee sniffed the path across the garden. The friends followed its soft shining trail.
Beneath the rocks grew one star-shaped flower. Its petals opened, holding three tiny glowing seeds. Pikachu gave one seed to each friend. “Sparkle, sparkle,” whispered the garden.
